Dictionnaire des Arts Médiatiques [Groupe de recherche en arts médiatiques - Université du Québec à Montréal]
The technologies and practices of media art generate a specific language and vocabulary, often incomprehensible to the outside world. This glossary is targeted towards artists working within the field of media arts, but it also serves as a tool for the general public.
This electronic glossary on media arts contains over 2000 words, 500 graphic illustrations and covers six domains: photocopying, holographics, infographics, multimedia (kinetic art, hypermedia, interactive installations, multimedia installations, performances, virtual reality, …) and electro-acoustic music and video in which different kinds of point technology intervene (satellite, fibre optics, laser, photovoltaic cells, etc.).

DOCAM's Glossaurus
Terminology in any discipline shifts and evolves over time to reflect the practices of a given community. In a domain such as new media art, however, where practice is closely tied to emerging technologies, we see accelerated vocabulary developments as terms are repurposed or invented by artists and practitioners on an ongoing basis. For those involved in the documentation and preservation of such works, changing vocabulary can lead to a lack of clarity in the use of terms or to difficulties in adequately expressing what is important to the identity of a work.

Inside Installations Glossary
The Inside Installations Glossary is a product of literature search and analysis of lectures and discussions during the project Inside Installations. Preservation and Presentation of Installation Art (2004-2007). In addition, relevant term descriptions from existing vocabularies are included, such as the Art and Architecture Thesaurus, Variable Media Questionnaire and Subject Descriptions from the Catalogue of Netherlands Media Art Institute/Montevideo.
The Inside Installations Glossary provides an insight into the currently used terminology on the preservation and presentation of installation art. Semantic research into this domain is still in its infancy; hence scope notes are not included but in stead a rich compendium of quotations for around 100 terms has been rendered.
To organise selected terms a number of six sub-categories are identified: 1. Typology of installation art; 2. Characteristics of installation works; 3. Identity; 4. Behaviour; 5. Status of the conservation object; 6. Conservation strategies.
